NYC Wedding Videographer, based on Long Island.
Ashley Film Studios films New York City weddings the way the city moves: fast, loud, and full of small moments that are gone in a second. We’re a husband-and-wife team based 60 miles east on Long Island, joined by lead photographer Colleen Reilly, which means we drive in with our own gear and our own crew. Manhattan ballrooms, Brooklyn lofts, Queens banquet halls, City Hall elopements followed by a walk across the bridge: we’ve filmed them all.
City weddings bring their own challenges: tight ceremony windows, mixed indoor and street light, rooftop wind over the vows, a reception that runs past midnight. We scout the venue and the portrait route ahead of time, record audio on wireless lavs plus a backup recorder at the ceremony, and shoot in 4K on Sony, Nikon and RED cinema systems so the skyline looks as sharp at night as it does in daylight.

A documentary-first edit built for the city: wide establishing shots of the skyline and the venue, then close, quiet coverage of the people inside it. Super 8mm film is available as an add-on for a classic New York look.

Is there a travel fee for NYC weddings?
No. Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, the Bronx and Staten Island are all within our standard service area. Parking and tolls are included in your quote.
Can you film a City Hall elopement and a dinner the same day?
Yes. Elopement coverage can include the ceremony, portraits around the city, and your dinner or party afterward. Tell us the plan and we’ll build the hours around it.
Do you know the vendor rules at NYC venues?
Many NYC venues restrict drones, lighting stands or the number of crew. We confirm every venue’s vendor policy before the wedding and adjust the plan so nothing is left out.
How do you handle low light at city receptions?
Full-frame cinema cameras, fast lenses, and small discreet LED panels where the venue allows them. We never flood a room with light; the goal is for the film to look like the night felt.
How far in advance should we book?
Most NYC couples reach out 9–12 months out; Saturdays in May, June, September and October fill first.
