A Canoe Place Inn wedding on the bay in Hampton Bays
Kristen and John married at the Canoe Place Inn & Cottages in Hampton Bays, a restored Hamptons landmark on the Shinnecock Canal where the ceremony lawn, the waterside cottages and the historic inn all sit within a few steps of each other. For a wedding videographer that layout is a gift: we could move between getting-ready in the cottages, the ceremony by the water and the reception inside the inn without ever losing the light or the couple.
We filmed the day as a two-person team, James and Keri, in 4K with a documentary approach, letting the toasts, the first look and the band carry the story rather than staging moments. The East End light in late afternoon on the canal is some of the best on Long Island, and it shaped the look of this film from the ceremony through the last dance.
If you are planning a Canoe Place Inn wedding, or any wedding in Hampton Bays, Southampton or the greater Hamptons, you can see more of our East End work on our Hamptons wedding videographer page, or check your date with us directly.
Kristen and John met at Fordham University about 12 years ago, and their love has only grown stronger ever since. They endured the challenges of a long-distance relationship while Kristen pursued dental school and John served in the U.S. Navy, proving their commitment through every obstacle. Together, they share a passion for traveling, whether it’s visiting family or exploring new destinations just for fun. One of their most treasured memories is getting engaged in Hawaii, a perfect moment that reflected the strength, joy, and adventure of their journey together.
